Embark on a food exploration in Birmingham

Birmingham is more than just Balti. Birmingham has a monumental selection of restaurants and bars on your doorstep, and it's growing day by day, the city’s social scene is buzzing!

This year, the city has welcomed a whole host of new eateries and bars popping up all over the city, affirming its label as a foodie/culinary destination.

It has so much to offer the influx of people moving into the city centre. From a huge basement Chinese restaurant, an Oyster bar owned by a Michelin starred chef, to a spot of fine dining along the waterside, two new gourmet pizza places and more – a tantalising mix to suit all!

Oyster Club  - Fish frenzy

The second restaurant from no other than the renowned Michelin-starred chef Adam Stokes, an oyster bar and seafood restaurant. Exquisite cuisine, exuberating class, style and a high-end feel, yet still relaxed – as expected from any restaurant owned by Adam. Located on Temple Street, an area quickly becoming the restaurant district.
Expect freshly sourced fish from all over the UK, the menu encompasses simple dishes, spectacularly delivered, with taste sensations guaranteed for fish lovers.

Did anyone say pizza?

You’ll definitely will fancy devouring a slice of pizza from one of these new pizza restaurants.

Franco Manca, the sourdough pizza pioneers are a hugely popular pizza restaurant chain from London. What is particularly unique about these melt in your mouth pizzas, is the slow-rising sourdough which is made daily on-site.

Also, expect seriously good pizza from Rudy’s opening on Bennetts Hill this summer, serving traditional Neapolitan pizza that takes just 60 seconds to cook.

Flight Club – Something a little different

There is a lot of hype surrounding the trendy new 'Social Darts' experience, originating from London. Flight Club is based in the heart of the city on Temple Street. Wacky décor, with a Victorian vibe and whole range of different games to play. Other quirky additions include cocktails in trophies, alcoholic slushies and pizza galore - what more could you want?

Waterside dining – Restaurant in a park

If you fancy escaping the hustle and bustle of the city centre, everyone’s talking about The Bracebridge, in the heart of Sutton Park. A transformation of the old Boathouse, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with a finer dining experience in the evening, all with a stunning view.

Noel’s bar and restaurant – Italy meets the Birmingham canal-side

The latest addition to Birmingham’s thrilling food scene takes residency by the canal close to The Cube. Offering homemade flavours from the Mediterranean, with fresh ingredients, hand-picked meats cooked on their charcoal grill and artisan pasta. All washed down with their innovative cocktails - what's not to love about this stylish restaurant?

The Dishroom - From bombay with love

Expected to open later this year, a well-known Indian brand is setting up on the brand new £700 million Paradise development, paying homage to the Irani cafes and the food of Bombay. Another MUST dining experience which initially opened in Covent Garden in 2010. This unique menu also includes Bombay-inspired cocktails. Curious? We certainly are…

Poli anyone?

A new laidback establishment on York Road in Kings Heath. From the team that brought you the popular wine bar, Grace & James. Poli serves wood-fired pizzas, small plates, snacks and dips, craft beer and natural wine. Desserts come in the form of ice cream sandwiches from Happy Endings - by any standard this is good food!

Gino D’Acampo – My restaurant

Celebrity chef Gino D’Acampo is set to open his first restaurant next to The Ivy on Temple Row, offering all-day casual dining. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. This highly anticipated restaurant is also expected to contain a prosecco bar, deli and a traditional Italian ice-cream bar.

Kababji

A new Lebanese restaurant opening in Grand Central, bringing the authentic flavours of Beirut to Birmingham! Serving up a range of dishes including traditional Middle Eastern mezze, steak wraps and kebabs of course!

Judging by this eclectic mix of new openings, you're spoilt for choice! Now for the gruelling predicament of deciding which to pick first? Have we missed your favourite new eatery or bar in the city off the list? Let us know so that we can check them out too!

Mat explained meticulously the nature of the business and the recent investment I made and the returns it can produce. I have known Mat during my Football Career and have always felt that the Property Investment Market is crying out for a good, honest and transparent company to help Professional Footballers take control of their finances to take them into retirement.

John Eustace, Kidderminster Harriers FC Manager
